Rana continues to take life in stride. She is a joyful, pleasant almost-four-year-old who is full of personality and starting voice her opinions. She is very perceptive of the world around her and making leaps and bounds in all three languages and in her cognitive development in general. She has a great memory, too. She talks about things we did last year regularly and remembers current and past conversations well. She can beat us at Memory! and she even knows which buses take us where in town!
She is having surgery next week to have her adenoids removed and tubes inserted into her ears, both which we believe have been the sources of her frequent fevers, so she had to go in for some pre-op blood work today. As we were talking about what to expect at the doctor's office, I warned her that it would hurt a little bit when the doctor poked her to draw the blood. She very astutely corrected me, "No, Mama, it hurts a lot!"
It did hurt when they poked her, but her doctor was very gentle and had the four tubes filled in no time. Rana is proud of her band aid and had a fun time playing in the waiting room, as usual. She's such a trooper!!
