All is well...

We just got home from the hospital. The MRI went well, and while we are still waiting on a few test results, the doctors are very pleased with Rana and her development. Her broken leg is healing well, too. She was a perfect little patient, even when the doctors had to poke her a few (13!!) too many times to find a suitable vein for her IV and they made her stay a second night for observation. All of the doctors are very encouraging, though they would like Rana to continue physical therapy and have occasional check-ups with the neurologists in the months to come. We appreciate their optimism and thoroughness.

Back in Marburg

Well, we're back in Marburg.
As you can see below,
Rana was thrilled to be reunited
with her Baba after a week apart.

Rana has an appointment tomorrow at the hospital for a check-up with her neurologists. This time, she will have an MRI and stay overnight for observation. We think she's doing great, so we are curious to see the test results. While we're there, we hope to have X-rays taken of her leg to make sure it is healing properly, too.

Winter Wonderland

Although Rana witnessed her first few snowflakes
in Marburg, Michigan introduced her to winter.
With record amounts of snow and frigid temperatures
hovering in the single digits during the day,
it has been a Winter Wonderland for most of our visit.

We've heard, however, that Marburg
isn't too much warmer these days...

Hopefully it will be by Sunday!!

Seven Months Old!

Rana has started her seventh month of life with a broken leg.
The doctors said that it appears to be healing well and since
Rana is not rolling over or crawling yet, there was no need for
a cast. She does not seem to be in pain, so we are very
grateful that her little body is so tough! She has certainly
endured a great deal in her short little life!

She is turning into a good eater and is progressing
from carrots and peas to squash this week. Mmm!

Sometimes it is just fun to play with Nana's baby spoons...

...and enjoy some extra time with Uncle Colin.
