Happy Feet

Rana loves the movie "Happy Feet," especially because of the great music! She bobs and dances and claps her hands as she watches little Mambo do his thing.

Baby Steps

Rana is starting to get the hang of this walking thing. She wanders through our apartment, stopping to lean on the couch or table for a few seconds before continuing on her way.

Sometimes she prefers to stand when she is playing with her toys, throwing them down onto the ground and bending over to pick them up again.

As her proud smile shows, she's gaining more confidence with every baby step! ;)

Our Little Whistler

Our little one-year-old is getting another tooth (which makes 5),

talking on the phone more and more,

and whistling up a storm (though this video doesn't do it justice!).

Rana's Birthday Parties

Lucky Rana got to celebrate her first birthday several times.

We had little parties for her with family

in Grand Rapids and Washington,

a wonderful afternoon with Sophie on her actual birthday,

and a fun BBQ yesterday with friends.

Rana liked the whipped cream,

but she was willing to share her cake!

Rana is one year old today!

It's hard to believe that it's already been a year since we welcomed our little girl into our lives. We came across this video recently. It was taken the morning after she was born, before she got sick.

We had fun at Najeeb's last soccer game before the summer break.

Kata's Graduation

Kata graduated from Law School!

And we were so glad to be there...

...to cheer her on!

We spent a lovely long weekend in Washington,

and even made it to a baseball game...

...before enduring the long journey back to Marburg.

Rana is a wonderful traveler, especially

now that she's discovered Baba's Ipod! ;)
