Boat Ride

We took a scenic boat ride through Marburg

on board the Elisabeth II this afternoon.

Spending an hour coasting along in this 

fishing boat turned tour boat was a great way

to enjoy this lovely summer afternoon!

Meeting Baby Noor

Rana was thrilled to meet our friend Baby Noor yesterday.

Noor is a beautiful, calm, quiet little five-week old princess

and we all savored our time with her and her parents, 

Kati and Waleed, and her Amu Jamal.

Summer Break

After a long battle with tonsillitis, 

Rana is feeling better and ready to enjoy 

her summer break from Kindergarten. 

We went to our first movie as a family - The Lorax.  

Rana received the book as a gift from her Uncle Colin 

a few years back, so she knows it well and recognized 

familiar scenes and lines in the movie. 

(We went to the showing in English.)

She loved the 3D effects and the cool glasses!

Now that the summer weather has returned, 

Rana is learning to ride her new bike without pedals.

 Her doctors told us at her recent check-up that Rana has 

almost completely rehabilitated the areas of her brain 

affected by her strokes. The right side of her body is 

almost as strong as the left side, largely due 

to her determination to continue using it.

And aren't the flowers that Baba gave Mama pretty!?

Rana is 4 Years & 1 Month Old!

Europa Park

We traveled a few hours south to spend the day at Europe's largest amusement park yesterday. Rana especially enjoyed riding in and driving a wide variety of cars and the adults were quite pleased with the number of excellent roller coasters and other attractions.
