A Fun Week!

We've had a fun week with Nana.
We cheered Najeeb on at his soccer game,

climbed many of the steps in Marburg's Old Town,

stopped to goof off here and there,

and just enjoyed the time together!

Thanks for coming to visit, Nana!

Nana!

Annie's Mom, aka Rana's beloved Nana, is visiting us this week.

Rana was so happy to see her and has hardly left her side (or arms)
since she arrived on Monday morning.

We have taken lots of walks,
including up to the castle this afternoon.

Rana was particularly fond of the binocular stand,
which she used as a little stage to entertain passersby.

What is more interesting: the pebbles or the view?

We're looking forward to many more fun times with Nana this week!

Happy Birthday, Najeeb!

We went into town today to celebrate Najeeb's birthday
and stopped for a few photos along the way.

Rana loves the "Happy Birthday" song and was
very excited to sing it to Baba all day today.
Most of the time, however, she omits the word "birthday,"
saying simply, "Happy to you, Baba!"
We love you, Najeeb!

A Stroll through the Botanical Gardens

We took advantage of the sunshine this afternoon
and went for a stroll through the Botanical Gardens.
Most of the time, Rana is more interested in
the rocks and pebbles than the flowers.
She likes to tuck them away in her pockets,
throw them, and put them in her hair.
Daycare starts up again this week and we are hoping that
Rana will be able to participate in the regular activities
again since she hasn't been seizing. It's been nice
to have some time off, but it will be good for Rana
to be with the kids again rather than having to hang out
with all of us boring adults all of the time! ;)

26 Months Old!

Rana remains a bundle of energy at 26 months.
Now that her meds have kicked in and she is
hardly having any seizures, we have been out and about
enjoying the summer. We take many walks down to see the ducks,
stopping to play in the parking spots at the end of the block,
and with the pretty white stones,

and on the bridge with a nice view of the
paddle boats and ducks that swim by beneath us.

Of course there are many flowers to pick along the way,

and the ducks always welcome us, hoping we
rememered to bring some bread crumbs!

On the way back home,
Rana takes the lead as we hike up a little hill.

We're so relieved that Rana is feeling better
and savor every outing with her!
