German-American Exchange Partners: The Next Generation

Half a lifetime ago (literally), I spent four 

weeks in Hamburg with Katrin and her family.

Last week, Rana, Mira, and I travelled there to see Katrin 

and her boys, Anton and Julius, who are visiting for the month. 

We had a rainy but fun visit, and I am so thankful 

that we have remained good friends all these years!

Mira is 11 Months Old!

Mira loves to take baths and showers with Rana.

Rana is 5 Years & 11 Months Old!

Mira is walking!

For the last few weeks, 

Mira has been taking a couple of steps 

on her own, often letting go of furniture

and taking two or three steps before 

sitting down to crawl away.

This weekend, however, she started WALKING! 

At 10 and a half months, there's no stopping her now!

Go, Mira, go!

School at Home Today

Rana had the day off today,

but used her time wisely, 

working in her Kindergarten workbook

and writing her numbers on the chalkboard. 

Because I had never seen her write numbers above 20,

I was quite impressed to see how it just seemed to click

and she kept going until she filled her board! 

Mira is Learning to Walk!

It won't be long before she's walking without support!
