Kids in the Park

Rana quite enjoyed an afternoon of fun for kids in the park, 

including train and tractor rides, face painting, gardening, 

and the opportunity to sit in a police car and ring the siren.

Nana & Grandpa in Königstein

We were thrilled that Annie's parents came to visit a few

weeks ago and we savored our time with them

in and around Königstein.

Mira is a goofball. Thankfully, she has been growing less timid with 

other people, so she interacted pretty well with Nana and Grandpa. 

Our little town celebrated it's Castle Festival while they were 

here, complete with a parade of nearly 50 different groups

all decked out in their Medieval costumes. It's great to experience 

first-hand how the community celebrates its history. 

Rana was especially taken by the newly crowned 

Princess Nora I as well the horse she "met" after the parade.

We spent a day at Europa Park and only got caught 

in the rain at the very end of the day.

Rana is 6 Years & 2 Months Old!

Mira is 1 Year & 1 Month Old!

Miri is a bundle of energy and loves to play.
She is learning and changing so much every day!
She loves running around with Rana and her friends.

She is eating real food like a champ and has an amazing appetite!
 When she is hungry, which is almost hourly these days,
she says "hum" repeatedly until we give her something to eat.
She is also starting to demonstratively refuse her bottles
and point out what she would prefer. Mira quite likes savory
and hearty foods, such as meats and cheeses,
and often eats almost much as her sister at meals.

It took her a while to adjust to daycare,

but she quite likes it there now.  Interestingly, she
transitioned better without Mama hanging about and
has established a stronger bond with the English-speaking
teacher, though she lets the other teachers care for her as well.

What a fun and busy age!

World Cup Fever

Germany won the World Cup!

Rana collected the team cards, dressed up, 

and followed some of the games,

while Mira quite enjoyed the drum

we were given at local store.

Wonder how long the euphoria will last?!
